‘Kama huna kadi utagongewa’: Niko Kadi launches door-to-door drive
Organisers of the popular Niko Kadi initiative have unveiled a new approach as they seek to have as many eligible Kenyans as possible register as voters.
Building on the success recorded during the life of the campaign, organisers of the initiative have now launched a door-to-door campaign.
Teams supportive of the initiative will move from one door to the next, mobilising Kenyans to register with a poster designed by the organisers, revealing that they will knock on doors of offices, houses, hostels, lodgings and hotel rooms as part of the drive.
“IEBC is coming closer to the people, so must we. From Monday, 30th March, let’s organise within our chapters and knock on every DOOR, house, office, room, hostel, lodging. Kama Huna Kadi Utagongewa. #NikoKadi #TukoKadi,” reads a poster shared widely by the youth behind the initiative.
IEBC launches Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration (ECVR)
The new approach coincides with the launch of the Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration (ECVR) by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

ECVR is scheduled to begin on 30th March 2026, with registration happening at the ward level as well as across institutions of higher learning.
Launched by the youth, Niko Kadi has seen IEBC officers across the country witness long queues as Kenyans turn out in large numbers to register.
It has also attracted the attention of the political elite, who have attempted to hijack it, with organisers of the organic movement maintaining that it is not associated with any political formation.
Organisers approached with lucrative deals
Allans Ademba, who is among the champions of the movement, confirmed that he had been approached with a lucrative deal which he turned down.
“I have received a phone call while in your waiting lobby… The call was, ‘Ademba, we are going to give you a lorry; we have branded them with #TukoKadi.’ Those were the calls. Sad to say, they even said they have branded me with my face, my friend; don’t try that,” Ademba stated.

He turned down the offers, making it clear that, unlike past initiatives that did not achieve the intended goals after politicians hijacked them, Niko Kadi/Tuki Kadi will not suffer the same fate.
