Head of the Customer Care department in Nairobi County, Geoffrey Mosiria, has refuted claims that he highlights needy cases on his platforms to chase clout, insisting that he only steps in to help despite not owning companies that readily offer jobs.

In a statement penned after helping a man whom he found stranded in the streets secure a job, Mosiria noted that he shared Mutua’s plight to give him visibility so that potential employers could intervene.

“When I shared his story on social media, my intention was simple: to give him visibility and hope that someone out there might see his situation and offer help,” he stated.

He added that when he shared the case, people criticised him, with some accusing him of clout chasing and questioning his intention.

“Some said it was wrong to give him fare back home instead of a job, while others accused me of posting his video for clout,” he continued.

Determined to give Mutua a second chance, Mosiria remained undeterred even after the latter went missing, issuing an appeal for help in tracing him.

Mosiria: I don’t own companies

Painting a clear picture of his daily struggles when expectations meet reality, Mosiria emphasised that while he does not own companies offering jobs, he is always willing to help give people in difficult situations a fresh start.

“But what many people do not understand is this: I do not own companies or businesses where I can employ everyone who comes to me seeking help,” he stated.

He eventually linked Mutua with a job at a restaurant in town, marking a significant change in the life of the man he found on the brink of despair.

Celebrating Mutua’s new job

Mosiria celebrated his impact after helping Mutua bounce back, proudly revealing that the latter works at an eatery in town.

“Today, I am happy to confirm that Mutua has finally secured a job through the same social media platform that some people criticised,” he concluded.

He appreciated those who supported him in getting Mutua back on his feet, saying that his actions were guided by conscience and by God, and he is glad that Mutua is no longer stranded on the streets.
