Gospel singer Mercy Masika reflects on interceding for nations as the Bride of Christ

Gospel singer Mercy Masika has shared a reflective message on her spiritual identity as the Bride of Christ, highlighting the responsibility, authority, and intimacy that come with the role.
In a post shared on Facebook on Saturday, January 31, 2026, Masika explained that being the Bride of Christ goes beyond simply receiving God’s love.
“I have purposed to understand who I am in Christ, and one of those identities is the Bride of Christ,” she wrote.

She described it as a strategic position that allows believers to engage in spiritual warfare and intercede for others.
Drawing a parallel to the biblical story of Queen Esther, she noted that Esther, as both queen and bride, had access to the king’s presence, heart, time, and affections, which enabled her to intercede and save an entire nation.
“Being the Bride is about more than simply receiving God’s love. It is a strategic position from which we wage war against the enemy. Consider Esther: as queen and bride to the king, she had access to his presence, his heart, his time, and his affections. Because of that position, she could intercede and save an entire nation and generation,” the singer wrote.
Masika emphasised that, in the same way, the Bride of Christ has intimate access to the King of Kings, allowing her to protect and intercede for others in powerful ways.
“In the same way, no true husband would stand by and watch a Haman assault his wife and his people. As the Bride of Christ, we have intimate access to the King of Kings. The enemy cannot ultimately touch us, because we dwell in the secret place and abide under the shadow of the Almighty,” she shared.
She further reflected on the spiritual protection associated with this identity, noting that believers dwelling in the secret place under the shadow of the Almighty are shielded from the enemy.
Masika also highlighted that Scripture affirms this identity, referencing 2 Corinthians 11:2, which underscores the sacredness of being promised to Christ and the purity of the Bride.
“Scripture clearly affirms this identity: “For I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him,” (2 Corinthians 11:2),” she wrote.
