GK Nyambura opens up on harrowing Diani trip with wanted criminal

Content creator GK Nyambura has narrated how a leisure trip to Diani turned into a frightening experience after she later discovered she had travelled with a wanted criminal.
Speaking to Kwambox on Thursday, January 22, 2026, she said the realisation only came after the trip had ended, forcing her to disappear for months for her own safety. Nyambura explained that at no point during the journey did she suspect the man was a stranger or involved in any crime.
She said the encounter began when they were at a club.
“I had just arrived, so this guy just pulled up to my circle,” she said.
Nyambura explained that her two friends were dancing and she joined in, assuming the man was part of their group. She said that the man greeted her and started talking to her casually, and that she assumed he was one of her friends and did not question his presence.
“I don’t want to say his name because he is in remand,” she said.
She said the group later travelled to Diani and checked into a villa. Nyambura explained that they all got into their rooms, including her two friends and the man. She said she still did not know he was a stranger at the time.
The truth comes out
Nyambura said the man started hitting on her during the trip. She explained that the group stayed in Diani for five days and nothing unusual happened.
“I went to the coast like 15 times in 2022,” she said, adding that the trip did not raise any alarm.
She said that after the five days ended, she went live on Instagram. Nyambura explained that the man asked if he could talk to her followers while she was live.
“He was like, are you live? Can I talk to them?” she said, adding that she allowed him.
Nyambura said things changed after they returned from the coast. She explained that she decided to text his cousin to ask if she knew him.
“I was like, do you know this guy?” she said.
She said the response shocked her.
“She was like, oh my God, stay away, he is wanted by the police,” Nyambura said.
She explained that she was also told the man was wanted in the village.
Nyambura said the information forced her to take drastic action. She explained that she had to go missing for a few months to protect herself.
“So I had to go missing for a few months,” she said, describing the experience as terrifying.
