Geoffrey Mosiria has reconnected an ailing man with his family after sharing his plight a few days ago.
The head of customer service in Nairobi County stated that the brother of the ailing man reached out, confirming that the family has been searching for him for two years, with the search ending after Mosiria’s intervention.
“A few days after I shared the story and photo of this man, his brother reached out to me. For the past two years, their family had been searching for him everywhere after he went missing, with no trace of where he could be,” Mosiria stated.
Disappearance amid mental health challenges and frantic search
Mosiria revealed that the man at one point lived a normal life, working and living with his family, until mental health challenges set in.
“Before he got lost, he had been working in a company and living a normal life with his wife and children. Unfortunately, he began to struggle with mental health challenges and eventually disappeared. His family, especially his wife and children, had been searching for him for the last two years without any success, not knowing whether he was alive or where he could be,” he added.
The frantic search ended after Mosiria made the post, which was seen by people who know the man, with his family reaching out.
Checked in for treatment
He has since been checked into a local facility after reconnecting with his family
“It became clear that he needed urgent help, as he appeared to be struggling with mental health challenges. His brother immediately stepped in and took responsibility to ensure he received the care he needed. He has since been facilitated to seek further assessment and treatment at Mathari National Teaching and Referral Hospital,” the Nairobi County Chief Officer for Customer Service added.
Borrowing from the case he highlighted, Mosiria noted that sometimes all it takes is to listen and share people’s stories, and the result could be anything from life-changing to heartwarming family reunions and more.
