Fans go wild as IShowSpeed visits Ethiopia after Kenya trip
American YouTuber and streamer IShowSpeed touched down in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, following a two-day visit to Kenya, and was met with an overwhelming crowd of fans eager to catch a glimpse of the internet sensation.
Considered one of the world’s greatest streamers, Speed’s arrival on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, had the city buzzing, with fans of all ages shouting his name and waving enthusiastically.
The Ethiopia stop marked his 10th country out of 20 on his 28-day Africa tour. As the crowd chanted “Speed! Speed!” fans from both genders vied for attention, trying to interact with the streamer in what became one of the most high-energy welcome events in the tour so far.
Immersed in culture
True to his style, IShowSpeed quickly immersed himself in Ethiopian culture. He greeted locals with his first learned phrase, “Dehna Nesh,” and joined in traditional dances, blending seamlessly with the crowd.
Later, he rode a scooter around the city, marvelling at Ethiopia’s beauty and the energy of its people. “I’ve already got a lot of energy after drinking Ethiopian coffee,” he said, visibly amazed at the lively crowds.

The streamer also visited an Orthodox church, where he received blessings and shared a moment with a local Ethiopian look-alike.
Fans cheered as he playfully interacted with his doppelgänger, still sporting his Kenya wristband from the previous stop.
Tasting local flavours
Food was next on the itinerary, with IShowSpeed sampling Ethiopian dishes, including injera, served by local women outside restaurants.

Fans followed him closely, some shouting “Suuui!” his trademark celebration was inspired by Cristiano Ronaldo. Embracing the energy, Speed obliged, performing his signature “Suuui” multiple times for the crowd.
The Ethiopia leg followed the Kenya stop, which gained him over 360,000 new followers and became one of the biggest viral moments of his tour.
In Ethiopia, concurrent live-stream views hit 270,000+, proving the streamer’s growing influence across East Africa.
