Esther Musila opens up on Guardian Angel’s sacrifice to rebuild children’s home

Social media personality Esther Musila has revealed the extraordinary sacrifice made by her husband, gospel singer Peter Omwaka, popularly known as Guardian Angel, to help rebuild a children’s home whose roof was destroyed by fire.
Taking to her official Instagram account on Thursday, January 15, 2026, Musila shared a photo of Guardian Angel’s first car and recalled how in 2019, he put up the car for sale to raise funds for the restoration of the home.
She added that the funds raised from the sale of the car were critical in providing shelter and support for the children, helping to restore normalcy to their lives.
“Omwaka’s first car! In 2019, he put up the car for sale to raise funds to rebuild a house for a children’s home whose roof had been destroyed by fire,” Musila said.
The children’s home, which had been severely damaged, now stands restored, thanks in part to the Wakati wa Mungu hitmaker’s bold initiative.
Building a church
This comes after the singer announced plans of building his own church.
Expressing deep gratitude to God for what he described as an extraordinary season of blessings, Guardian Angel shared the announcement on Saturday, October 4, 2025, via his official Instagram account.
He added that he was not seeking financial support from his fans or followers but only their prayers as he begins the project.
In his post, he wrote that God had been exceedingly good to him and that his heart was set on honouring that goodness through the construction of a place of worship.
“I am going to build a church before the end of this year. Mungu amekuwa mwema sana kwangu. Siombi mchango wenu, maombi pekee inatosha.” The post, written partly in Swahili, read.
The Swahili part translates to “God has been very good to me. I am not asking for your contributions, only your prayers.”
The artiste’s declaration comes with less than three months left before the year comes to a close, setting an ambitious timeline for the completion of the project.
Guardian Angel noted that his motivation was purely spiritual, adding that he wanted the church to be a symbol of thanksgiving and a testimony to divine favour.
