Drama at TikToker Janabi’s wedding as wife demands HIV test mid-ceremony
The wedding of Cindy’s ex-lover, Janabi, and his new partner, Gladys, popularly known as Coastal Palm, was marked by drama after Coastal demanded that they take an HIV test in front of TikTokers to quell some misleading rumours she had heard about him.
The wedding was streamed live on TikTok on Saturday, May 2, 2026, and was attended by a select group of TikTokers, including Mali Safi, Mkamba, and Nyakwar, among others.
Those who were unable to attend followed the ceremony via a TikTok live stream and were also hosted on the platform, where they shared their reactions as the wedding unfolded.
The ceremony began in a lively and colourful atmosphere, with guests enjoying refreshments, including alcohol, before proceeding to the key moment where Coastal was expected to place the ring on Janabi’s finger.
At that point, she paused before proceeding to slide the ring, stating that she first wanted an HIV test conducted in front of everyone to ensure clarity and peace of mind.
She explained that her decision was guided by her conviction, adding that she did not want to proceed with the marriage before confirming the matter publicly.
“There is a story we have heard, I don’t know about it, and now I want to prove something. I want to know his status in front of everyone else. I want to do this before I can put the ring on his finger,” she said.

The announcement, however, left attendees surprised, with the wedding nearly descending into chaos as some guests laughed while others questioned why such a step was being introduced on the wedding day.
Others, including Nyako, encouraged the couple to proceed with the test if that was what Coastal felt was necessary, suggesting that a testing kit be availed and the process carried out immediately.
Nyako further urged that the results be clearly displayed so that viewers following the ceremony online could also witness the outcome.
“Do you have a kit, the testing kit? If you have the kit, then proceed and do the test and make it quick. Then after that you zoom the results for us to see and then we proceed with the wedding. And again, I do not understand why some people in that wedding are throwing shade at me. Are they there to spoil someone’s wedding? I even wonder why they were invited because it is clear that they are jealous. Why are they hurling shade at me honestly?” Nyako said.
Later, with the assistance of TikToker Mkamba, the couple proceeded with the test, and the results returned negative, bringing relief and satisfaction to the couple as well as their hundreds of online viewers.
