Tanzanian music star Diamond Platnumz has opened up about his desire to expand his family, revealing that his ultimate goal is to have ten children.

Speaking in an interview shared by a local Bongo radio station on Thursday, April 3, 2026, the singer explained that while he has a clear vision of having a large family, he believes that having children is ultimately determined by God.

“And regarding the question of whether I am planning to have more children, I would say that children are only planned by God,” he said.

He noted that he is open to welcoming more children if the opportunity arises, adding that he would be happy if he is blessed with more.

“Haha. It is God who decides, so if more come or it happens that I have more, I will be happy,” he shared.

Diamond admitted that time may not be entirely on his side, suggesting that he feels slightly behind in achieving his goal of having ten children. However, he maintained that he remains hopeful and is leaving the matter in God’s hands, trusting that things will happen at the right time.

“It is something I wish for. My ultimate goal is to have ten children, and right now I feel a little behind in time,” he said.

The award-winning artiste also clarified that he cannot currently confirm whether he is expecting any more children, emphasising that there are no definite plans at the moment. Instead, he said he is patiently waiting and trusting that God will determine when and how his family grows.

“At the moment, I cannot confirm any specific plans or expectations. We are just waiting on God, and when He feels it is right, He will bless me,” he added.

At the same time, Diamond hinted that he is making efforts toward expanding his family, noting that if those efforts are successful, he would gladly embrace the outcome.

“But I can also confirm that I am making efforts, and if those efforts pay off, then great,” he said.

Son’s career

In the same interview, Diamond also recalled a moment when he deleted his son’s YouTube account after the child expressed interest in pursuing gaming professionally.

He explained that one day, his son told him he wanted to become a gamer.

Diamond was initially shocked and uncertain, questioning whether playing video games could genuinely be a career. He recalled how his son had even opened a YouTube account to post videos of himself playing games, which alarmed him further.

Concerned about the legitimacy and future prospects of gaming, Diamond deleted the account, fearing that it might distract his son from more traditional or stable career paths.

“One day my son told me he wanted to become a gamer. I was surprised and wondered how that could be a career. He even opened a YouTube account to post videos of himself playing games. I was very worried, so I deleted the account,” Diamond said.

After the initial reaction, Diamond said he took time to reflect privately on his decision. He realised that many young people today are exploring unconventional professions and earning significant income through new digital platforms.

He observed that the world has changed and that being overly rigid or dismissive could prevent children from discovering talents that might ultimately bring them success.

“Later, I reflected and realised I needed to be open-minded. But I sat alone and reflected, wondering if I was doing the right thing. You never know what potential lies in a child,” he added.
