Zuchu’s mum Khadija Kopa sends heartfelt message after her pregnancy announcement

Legendary Tanzanian Taarab singer Khadija Kopa has shared a heartfelt message for her daughter, Zuchu, after the singer announced she is expecting her first child.
Zuchu revealed the pregnancy on Thursday, July 30, 2026, through a series of maternity photos posted on Instagram. The images showed the singer proudly displaying her baby bump alongside ultrasound scan images.
In the post, Zuchu expressed her excitement about becoming a mother, writing: “Growing Love and Eating for Two, please be a chubby baby.”
Hours later, Kopa took to social media to dedicate a special message to her daughter.
“Hongera mwanangu katika uzao wako wa kwanza. Bibi ako nakusubiri In shaa Allah,” she wrote.
The veteran singer prayed that God would watch over Zuchu, bless her and protect her from harm as she prepares to welcome her first child.
Diamond celebrates news
Zuchu’s pregnancy announcement also received a warm response from her ex-partner, Tanzanian singer and Wasafi Records boss Diamond Platnumz.
Shortly after Zuchu shared the news, Diamond reposted her maternity photos and ultrasound scan images on his Instagram account.
In the caption, the Bongo Flava star, whose real name is Nasibu Abdul, celebrated the arrival of a new member of the Dangote family.
“New heart beats in the family 🐣🍼👼💙🩷,” he wrote.
Recent relationship twist
The pregnancy announcement comes only weeks after Zuchu publicly revealed that she and Diamond had separated and were going through a divorce, a revelation that surprised many of their fans.
At the time, the singer said she had decided to prioritise herself after six years in the relationship.
“Hello, my GPG. Mimi na aliyekuwa mwenzangu, we are now separated and going through a divorce. I announce this with a heavy heart. After six years of being together, I have finally decided to choose myself,” she said.
