Media personality Yvonne Mugure has revealed the stand she took before marrying her husband, saying she did not want to let their relationship drag on without moving towards marriage.
The media personality said her husband had to convince her before they could proceed with their plans. She explained that after he succeeded in convincing her, they planned their Ruracio and were married within a year.
“My husband said the hardest part was convincing me. After working to convince me, we planned our Ruracio and were married in a year,” Yvonne Mugure said on Thursday, September 10, 2026.
She said their decision to marry within a year made some people feel they were moving too fast. However, Yvonne explained that she also felt her husband was different from the other men she had known.
“Most people said we were rushing, but I also knew he was different from any other man I’d known,” Yvonne Mugure said.
The experience has shaped the advice Yvonne now gives women who want marriage. She encouraged women to be clear about what they want from a relationship instead of allowing a man to keep delaying the decision.
Yvonne’s advice to women
Yvonne said women who desire marriage should set conditions and be willing to walk away when those conditions are not met. She explained that standing firm can help a woman avoid spending too much time in a relationship that is not moving in the direction she wants.
“Moral of the story, ladies, don’t let a man drag the relationship for too long if marriage is what you desire. Give conditions, and if they’re not met, be strong enough to move on,” Yvonne Mugure said.
She also shared her view on how men approach relationships, saying they often know early whether a woman is the person they want to marry. Yvonne said women should therefore pay attention to how a man approaches the relationship.
“Men love women who stand their ground from my experience. They know from very early on if you’re the one or not,” Yvonne Mugure said.
For Yvonne, her own experience involved being convinced before she and her husband made plans for their Ruracio and eventually got married. She said the process moved quickly after they had made that decision, despite others feeling they were rushing.
