Yvonne Mugure tells women in their 20s to stop feeling guilty about going out

Influencer Yvonne Mugure has encouraged women in their 20s to enjoy life without feeling guilty about going out.
She said young women should meet people, date, and have fun while still taking care of their responsibilities.
According to Mugure, this period of life is meant for exploration and enjoyment.

“You should not be clubbing in your 20s? Girl, go out and live your life. Meet people, date, and have fun. Just make sure you’re still taking care of your responsibilities and don’t get lost. This is your time,” she wrote in an Instagram post on Friday, March 13, 2026.
Mugure explained that young women should embrace opportunities to socialise and experience life fully.
She expressed concern about a trend she has noticed: some women in their 20s make younger women feel guilty for enjoying themselves. Mugure argued that young people should not be shamed for going out.

“There is this thing I am seeing of girls in their 20s making other younger girls feel bad for going out. What are you supposed to be doing in your 20s? Tear it up. You have very minimal responsibilities,” she said.
Fun and balance in your 20s
Mugure shared personal experiences from her college years to illustrate her point. She said she often went out but still managed to excel academically.
“When I was in college, I used to go out and still wake up the next morning to do a test and get an A. I may be out here partying with you, but don’t get it confused,” she said.
She encouraged women not to feel tied down at a young age and to use this time to enjoy themselves responsibly.

She also highlighted the importance of balance, advising women to manage fun alongside their responsibilities.
“That is what I am saying, date. Don’t be tied down when you are young. You are supposed to be having fun. Just balance your life. Just do it now,” she added.
Mugure’s comments serve as a reminder for young women to focus on personal growth and enjoyment in their 20s. She advocates for a healthy mix of social life, dating, and responsibility, encouraging women to embrace this stage of life without guilt or judgment.
