Willis Raburu accident: What we know so far

Former Citizen TV news anchor and Kisumu senatorial aspirant Willis Raburu has reassured fans and supporters after being involved in a road accident on Sunday, July 26, 2026.
The media personality was travelling with the Linda Mwananchi campaign convoy to Bungoma County for political rallies when the incident happened during the morning hours.
Word of the crash quickly spread across social media, leaving many of his followers concerned about his safety before he stepped in to clarify what transpired.
Minor injuries on the road
Speaking in a video after the accident, Raburu explained that a vehicle collided with him while he was on the road, causing him to fall.
Fortunately, the broadcaster escaped serious harm, picking up only minor bruises from the impact.
“Some random car hit me on the road. Campaign trails can be intense! But I am okay,” Raburu said, easing the worries of his supporters.
Rather than letting the scare interrupt his schedule, Raburu brushed off the incident and got back on his feet almost immediately.
He quickly caught up with the rest of the campaign team as they pushed forward with their journey across the region.
“I fell and got some bruises, but I’m ok. Nothing can stop a movement whose time has come! Caught up to the caravan and we kept it,” he added.
Caravan continues Bungoma rallies
Raburu has been actively taking part in political activities across the country as he campaigns for the Kisumu Senate seat under the Linda Mwananchi banner.
The political movement brings together various public figures and community organisers who are holding public meetings in different counties.
The convoy was heading to Bungoma for a full lineup of rallies when the morning accident occurred.
Once Raburu rejoined the team, the campaign carried on with their planned itinerary and held their public engagements without further delay.
His message provided relief to supporters seeking reliable information online.
Raburu remains on the campaign trail as he continues to push his Kisumu senatorial bid ahead of upcoming political contests.
