Shiksha Arora credits her mum for her success after winning Best Digital Creator Award

Media personality Shiksha Arora has credited her mother for playing an important role in her journey after winning the Best Digital Creator Award.
Shiksha shared a heartfelt message on Instagram on Monday, August 31, 2026, celebrating her mother for supporting her from childhood and helping her build the confidence that has shaped her career.
The creator said her mother introduced her to performing at a young age, long before she understood how important confidence would become in her life.
Shiksha celebrates her mother
According to Shiksha, her mother made sure she had opportunities to perform, enrolling her in dance classes and encouraging her to take part in different activities. She recalled being asked to perform a solo dance on stage when she was only five years old while in nursery school.

“My mum is my greatest cheerleader. From making me get on a stage and do a solo dance when I was just 5 years old in nursery school, to enrolling me in dance classes and constantly pushing me to perform, she has been building my confidence long before I even understood what that meant,” Shiksha said.
Beyond performance, Shiksha said her mother also taught her the importance of kindness and remaining grounded regardless of success. She described her mother as someone who has continued to support her through different stages of her life, including moments of doubt and achievement.
Shiksha wins Best Digital Creator
Shiksha’s message came shortly after she was recognised as the Best Digital Creator. The award was a proud moment for the creator, who said she was especially happy that her mother was present to witness the achievement.
She also dedicated the recognition to the people whose stories have formed a major part of her content.
“This recognition is not just mine; it belongs to every person who has allowed me to be part of their story. The boda boda rider, the matatu driver, the madafu seller, the mama mboga, the newspaper seller – I salute you. This award is ours!” she said.

Her content focus
Shiksha said her work has always gone beyond chasing views, likes and followers. She explained that she uses her platform to tell real stories, highlight ordinary people who inspire others and create opportunities where possible.
For her, the award is therefore a recognition of the community that has supported her work and allowed her to share their experiences. She thanked those who voted for her, shared her stories and continued to encourage her work, while also appreciating her family and friends for keeping her grounded.
Shiksha said the recognition had reminded her that content can have an impact beyond social media numbers. She noted that even one story, one opportunity, or one act of kindness can make a difference in someone’s life.
As she celebrates the award, Shiksha continues to credit the woman who first encouraged her to step on stage as a child, saying her mother’s belief in her came long before the awards, followers and public recognition.
