Sammy Boy calls out forex traders who label 9-to-5 workers lazy and broke

In a video shared on his Instagram page on Saturday, August 15, 2026, the trader expressed his disappointment with the growing trend of some forex content creators referring to employed people as “brokies” while presenting trading as the only path to financial success.
According to Sammy Boy, every profession deserves respect, and people should be allowed to build their lives at their own pace without being ridiculed.
Sammy Boy urges traders to respect working Kenyans
The trader explained that many of the people being criticised are the same individuals who support online businesses, buy courses and interact with content created by influencers.
He questioned why some traders would insult people they ultimately depend on.
“There is an ongoing story online involving forex traders and influencers. It has reached a point where people have started criticising those doing their 9-to-5 jobs and speaking badly about them,” Sammy Boy said.
He added that there was nothing wrong with choosing a career and earning a monthly salary.
“The same people you expect to click on the links in your biography and buy your courses are the people you are insulting. You start calling them ‘brokies’ and saying they are suffering in life,” he added.
Success does not happen at the same time for everyone
Sammy Boy also pointed out that financial success does not follow the same timeline for everyone. He encouraged Kenyans to stop comparing their journeys with those of others, noting that one person’s success today does not mean another person will never succeed.
“Your star might shine now, but there are those whose stars will shine later. I am very disappointed, especially because I am also a forex trader. It should never reach a point where we start criticising people because they are working and earning an honest salary,” he said.
He argued that many people combine employment with investing and that having a stable source of income can provide a stronger foundation for trading.
‘Stop misleading people about forex’
The trader also challenged influencers who market forex trading as a guaranteed way to become rich.
According to him, some content creators create unrealistic expectations by promising quick wealth while avoiding conversations about the risks involved.
“You need a primary job before you can comfortably trade forex. Stop lying to people that they can simply become millionaires overnight,” he said.
He further criticised traders who spend more time showing expensive lifestyles on social media than demonstrating actual trading skills.
Calls for unity within the forex community
Sammy Boy also expressed concern about growing divisions within the online trading community. He claimed that some upcoming influencers try to gain attention by attacking other traders rather than focusing on educating their audiences.
“There is no sense of community. Some people believe they can only become famous by insulting another forex trader. Some have never traded and have nothing to show, yet they are the first to speak badly about others,” he said.
As he concluded his message, the trader urged influencers to become more responsible with the content they share. “Be motivational. Encourage people and allow them to take their time. We want to start seeing people trade and not just post their lavish lifestyles,” he said.
