Content creator Harriet Njenga has resigned as the social media manager for Mumias East MP Peter Salasya, bringing to an end her stint with the Salasya TV team.

The resignation, dated Saturday, July 11, 2026, first came to light in an Instagram post shared by Njenga, in which she posted a farewell message.

“Every picture tells a story. Every journey has an ending. Today, I close this chapter with gratitude. Thank you for the memories,” she wrote while tagging Salasya.

Resignation letter

In her resignation letter, Njenga said she was stepping down from her role as Social Media Manager and member of the Salasya TV team with immediate effect.

She noted that she joined the team on December 20, 2024, and thanked Salasya for the opportunity to serve.

“Since joining your team on 20 December 2024, I have dedicated my time, creativity, and effort to building and managing your online presence, creating content, covering events, and representing the brand to the best of my ability,” part of the letter read.

Njenga said she had decided to pursue other opportunities, describing the decision as one she had made after careful consideration.

“This decision was not made lightly, but I believe it is the best step for my personal and professional growth,” she wrote.

After making her decision public, Njenga also shared a screenshot of a WhatsApp message she sent to Salasya informing him of her resignation.

“Boss, I’d like to officially tender my resignation from my role at Salasya TV, effective today. Thank you for the opportunity and the experience. I wish you and the team all the best.”In the message addressed to “Bossy P.k Salasya,” she wrote.

Earlier frustration

Before announcing her resignation, Njenga had publicly expressed frustration over remarks made by Salasya during a past interview

She revealed that she had resigned after feeling hurt by comments made during an interview in which Salasya denied knowing her when asked about speculation surrounding their relationship.

“Are you happy now? I don’t have a job currently. Why? Because I quit. I quit,” she said.

According to Njenga, questions about whether she and Salasya were romantically involved made the MP uncomfortable.

“You are asking some questions that made my ex-boss, Honourable P.K. Salasya, uncomfortable with. You were asking him about us having a thing and making him swear we’ve never had a thing,” she said.

Njenga insisted there had never been a romantic relationship between them.

“We’ve never had a thing, actually. I’m not his type. He’s not my type. We’ve never actually had a thing and we’ll never have a thing,” she added.

However, she said what hurt her most was not Salasya denying the rumours but appearing to deny knowing her altogether.

“Why would you deny me in public? Everyone knows I’m working for you. Then why would you ignore me and deny me? No, I don’t know her,” she said.

Njenga questioned how her employer could fail to acknowledge her publicly despite the work she had done for him.

“If my boss cannot recognise me, then I quit,” she stated.

She further said she feared Salasya would even fail to acknowledge her as an employee if something happened to her.

“If I were to have maybe some accident… ‘No, no, no, that’s not my employee,'” she said, explaining why she felt compelled to leave.
