Rachael Otuoma issues update after surviving horrific road accident

Late footballer Ezekiel Otuoma’s widow, Rachael, has reassured her followers that she is safe after surviving a frightening road accident along Nairobi’s Expressway.

Speaking in a TikTok live on Saturday, July 4, 2026, the TikToker showed fans photos of her damaged car and described the crash as one of the most terrifying experiences she has ever gone through.

According to Rachael, the accident happened after another vehicle, which had lost control while travelling at high speed, suddenly veered into their lane before scraping the side of her car.

She explained that she noticed the speeding vehicle approaching and instinctively swerved towards the edge of the road in an attempt to avoid a direct collision.

“So that car that had lost control came from nowhere and started rubbing against our cars on the side. It was moving very fast,” she recalled.

Rachael said although her quick reaction helped her avoid a head-on impact, the out-of-control vehicle still rammed into the passenger side of her car, leaving it badly dented.

She later shared photographs of the damaged vehicle, thanking God for sparing her life during the terrifying ordeal.

“Look at these photos and see how one side of my car was left with dents. It is only God who saved me,” she said.

She further revealed that several other vehicles travelling ahead of her were not as fortunate and sustained more serious damage during the crash.

Rachael said the severity of the accident became clear when she saw luggage strewn outside some of the vehicles involved, with fellow motorists describing the collision as extremely serious.

“Other cars that were in front of me were hit badly. Their bags were all outside, showing how serious the accident was. Even those who were there said it was a very bad crash,” she said.

Although visibly shaken by the experience, Rachael expressed gratitude that she walked away unharmed.

“I got so frightened. I thank God I survived because I have never experienced something like this in my life. I would say I am lucky,” she added.

The TikToker also noted that the impact occurred on the passenger side of her vehicle, something she believes spared her from more serious injuries.

“The side that was hit is the passenger side, and we were on the Mombasa Road Expressway. Life is the most important thing. A car can always be repaired,” she said.

She disclosed that the vehicle had already been taken to a garage in Umoja for repairs.

Despite escaping without major injuries, Rachael admitted she remains concerned about the condition of the occupants of the other vehicles involved in the accident.

“I still don’t know where the people who were in those other cars are or how they are coping after that accident. I pray they are all safe,” she said.

Her update comes months after the death of her husband, former Kenyan footballer Ezekiel Otuoma, with the widow continuing to share her healing journey and day-to-day life with thousands of followers on TikTok.
