Life behind a perfect image
The Polygamist is adapted from a novel and follows events within Johannesburg’s wealthy circles. The story explores a world where wealth, status, image, and personal desires often clash, leading to serious consequences for those involved.

At the centre of the series is Jonasi Gomora, a powerful banking tycoon whose life begins to fall apart because of his personal decisions. Although he appears successful from the outside, the drama shows the challenges hidden behind his public image.
“Men lie so much I’m starting to believe Adam bit the apple and blamed it on Eve… that’s why the apple is stuck in men’s throats #jonasiiiii,” Zari Hassan said.
According to the storyline, Jonasi is known for his successful career, strong reputation, and marriage to social media influencer Joyce Gomora. However, the series reveals that his private life is much more complicated than it appears.
The show portrays a man dealing with secrecy, manipulation, and emotional turmoil behind closed doors. As the story unfolds, the decisions he makes begin to affect both his personal life and the empire he worked hard to build.
