Obinna and Bolo Bespoke’s World Cup spat explained: What we know so far

A friendly World Cup prediction has quickly turned into an online row between media personality Oga Obinna and businessman Bolo Bespoke after the two publicly challenged each other to a high-stakes cash bet.
The exchange began after Obinna shared a video on his Instagram page on Friday, July 18, 2026, saying he was looking for someone confident enough to bet on the FIFA World Cup final.
Obinna starts with a Ksh500,000 challenge
In the video, Obinna revealed he was backing Argentina to win the final and invited anyone supporting Spain to put their money on the line.
He also said he wanted to watch the match with fans and witness the outcome together.
“I’m looking for someone who believes Spain will win. I’ll put Ksh500,000 in Argentina and they should bring Ksh500,000 for Spain. Let’s meet, watch the World Cup final together and see who takes the money,” Obinna said.

Bolo raises the stakes
Shortly afterwards, Bolo Bespoke responded, dismissing the Ksh500,000 bet and challenging Obinna to increase the amount.
Bolo, who said he was fully behind Spain, insisted that if they were going to bet, it should be for a larger amount.
“Oga Obinna, if you believe you’re a big man with your YouTube money, then let’s talk about real money. I challenge you to make it Ksh1 million. I’ll put KSh1 million on Spain and you’ll put Ksh1 million on Argentina,” Bolo said.
He added that they should meet in person on match day with the money in cash and settle the bet after the final whistle.

Obinna doubles the challenge
Obinna later fired back, saying Bolo had inserted himself into a challenge that was not originally directed at him. He described Bolo as someone who makes unnecessary noise on social media before accepting the new challenge.
“I wasn’t even looking for you. I wanted people at your level and above, but since you’ve stepped in, let’s do this properly,” Obinna said.
Instead of accepting the Ksh1 million proposal, Obinna doubled the amount to Ksh2 million.
“You wanted Ksh1 million? Let’s make it Ksh2 million. If Spain beats Argentina, I’ll give you Ksh2 million in cash. If Argentina wins, you give me Ksh2 million. It’s double or nothing,” he added.
Obinna also challenged Bolo not to back out of the agreement, saying the businessman should only accept the challenge if he was ready to honour it.
Fans react to online exchange
The back-and-forth has attracted attention across social media, with many users sharing mixed reactions over whether the pair will actually place the Ksh2 million bet.
Others believe the rivalry has added excitement ahead of the World Cup final, with supporters of both Argentina and Spain waiting to see whether the two personalities will meet as promised to watch the match together.
