‘My inner circle is as small as Arsenal’s trophy cabinet’ – Burale shares funny take on friendship
By Paulette Mboga, June 6, 2026Motivational speaker and pastor Robert Burale has opened up about friendship, trust and personal growth, saying he now keeps a very small circle of people around him.
During an interview with Chris the Bass on Friday, June 5, 2026, he made a humorous comparison to Arsenal’s trophy cabinet to illustrate how much his social circle has changed over time.
“But my inner circle, bro, it is as small now as the Arsenal trophy cabinet because it now only has one trophy. It used to be empty, but now it is as small as…” Robert Burale said.

Burale explained that his experiences have taught him important lessons about the people he allows into his life. He said some of those lessons came through situations that helped him become more careful and selective.
“And you learn, some of those things,” Robert Burale said.
The speaker also revealed that he has changed the way he responds to requests he receives on social media. According to him, he no longer rushes to assist everyone who contacts him because he has learned to be more cautious.
He explained that many people reach out asking for help or support. However, he now takes time to assess situations before deciding how to respond.
Being careful with trust
“I stopped, sometimes being very philanthropic with messages I get on social media. Ohh, help me, oh sijui who is hungry, I am now careful about that,” Robert Burale said.
Burale said his caution comes from the fact that it is not always easy to know people’s intentions. He explained that trust should be handled carefully because appearances can sometimes be misleading.

“Because you don’t know who is who,” Robert Burale said.
The motivational speaker also reflected on relationships and the possibility of facing challenges from those close to them. He referred to a biblical teaching that has influenced his perspective on trust.
Despite his views on trust and friendship, Burale said he chooses not to use his public platform to attack others. Instead, he explained that his focus is on encouraging people and helping them overcome difficult periods in life.
“I never use my platform to attack anyone. Mine is to teach people what to do after a dark season,” Robert Burale said.
