Mama Jimmy reveals US visa process took 3 years, shares family’s struggle to relocate

Content creator Judith, popularly known as Mama Jimmy, has opened up about the lengthy process she and her family went through before finally relocating to the United States, revealing that their visa application took nearly three years to complete.
In a TikTok post on Sunday, July 26, 2026, Judith, who is married to Wajumbe Records preacher Baba Jimmy, reflected on the long wait that preceded their relocation, saying the process began in 2021 when they applied for their passports and visas.
She said the application process was followed by what became the most difficult part of their journey: waiting for the necessary paperwork to be processed and approved.
“Our Journey to America. In 2021, we started the process by applying for our passports and visas. Then came the hardest part, waiting,” she wrote.
Judith said the family waited for almost three years before finally receiving approval, describing the lengthy period as a challenging experience as they remained in anticipation of the outcome.
According to the content creator, their applications were eventually approved in June 2024, paving the way for them to relocate to the United States.
She also revealed that the family has now been living in America for two years and one month, marking a significant change from the period when she and Baba Jimmy were based in Kenya.
“We waited for almost three years for all the paperwork to be completed. Finally, in June 2024, everything was approved, and we moved to America. Now, we’ve been living here for 2 years and 1 month,” she added.
Dating life
Elsewhere, K24 Digital reported that Mama Jimmy opened up about one of the songs that defined her love story with her husband, Baba Jimmy, revealing that she listened to it every night whenever she missed him before they got married.
In a TikTok post on Friday, July 17, 2026, Mama Jimmy reminisced about their dating days, explaining that the romantic song Uvumilivu by Tanzanian artistes Keisha and Squezer became the soundtrack of their relationship long before they exchanged vows.
According to the content creator, the song brought her comfort whenever she and Baba Jimmy were apart, especially during moments when they could only communicate over the phone.
“I used to play this song when I was dating Baba Jimmy, before we were married. Every night before going to bed, when I missed him, I would listen to it,” she wrote.
Mama Jimmy revealed that the song constantly reminded her of the man she loved, helping her feel close to him despite the distance between them.
“Sometimes we could only talk on the phone, and this song reminded me of him,” she recalled.
She further disclosed that the song still holds a special place in her heart because it captures some of the most memorable moments from the early days of their relationship.
“This song carries so many memories of our love story,” Mama Jimmy said.
Looking back on their journey, Mama Jimmy said listening to the song reminds her of the period when they were still young, deeply in love, and dreaming about building a future together.
“It reminds me of those days when we were young, missing each other and dreaming about our future together,” she shared.
The mother of two added that what was once a song that eased the pain of missing her partner has now become a beautiful reminder of how far God has brought them as a couple.
“Now it is a beautiful memory of the journey God has brought us through,” she said.
