Mama Jimmy fires back at Kenyans demanding more after she tried speaking English

USA-based Kenyan content creator Mama Jimmy has responded to Kenyans who poked fun at the way she speaks English, jokingly telling them to appreciate the effort she was making instead of demanding more from her.

In a video shared on her TikTok page on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, Mama Jimmy addressed the reactions she had received after posting an earlier video in which she attempted to speak in English.

The content creator appeared amused by the comments, particularly those from viewers who claimed she was speaking English with an accent and jokingly suggested that she was speaking with her nose.

Mama Jimmy said she had deliberately tried to speak English in the video, only for some viewers to focus on the way she pronounced the words instead of appreciating her attempt.

“I tried to speak English today, and I posted a video, and people were commenting and saying that I was speaking with my nose, like I have an accent,” she said.

She then laughed off the comments, describing the reactions from her followers as funny and questioning why some people were still demanding more from her despite the effort she had already made.

“Haha, you guys are so funny. Why can’t you get satisfied with the amount I spoke? You want more?” she said.

Mama Jimmy appeared to be responding to the long-running attention surrounding her adjustment to life in the United States, with some Kenyans previously questioning whether she would be able to cope after relocating there.

Earlier English attempt

Her response came only hours after she had shared another video in which she attempted to communicate in English while showcasing a projector she had acquired for her children.

In the earlier clip, Mama Jimmy introduced the gadget to her followers and explained that it was a useful project for children, before showing how her own children were enjoying it.

“Hi guys, so this is a nice projector to get for your kids. Let me show you guys,” she said.

She then turned the camera towards the children and showed them enjoying the projector as she continued explaining how useful it was for them.

“As you can see, my kids are really enjoying this projector,” she added.

Mama Jimmy then appeared to turn the attention to her son Jimmy, noting that he was also speaking English during the video.

“My son Jimmy is speaking English today as well,” she said.

She subsequently joked that her own English-speaking journey was still a work in progress and expressed hope that she would eventually become better at speaking the language.

“Maybe one day I will be speaking nice English,” she said.
