Mama Jimmy recalls scary encounter after snake fell from the roof of their Kitale house
By Steve Ireri, July 4, 2026USA-based content creator Mama Jimmy has opened up about one of the most terrifying moments from her childhood, recalling how a huge snake suddenly fell from the ceiling of their family home in Kitale while they were preparing lunch.
Speaking in a TikTok video on Friday, July 3, 2026, Mama Jimmy said the frightening incident happened years before her life changed, when she was still living with her family in their unfinished house in Kitale.
According to her, she, her mother and other family members had gathered in the kitchen where they had just finished preparing a meal.
She recalled that they had cooked a large pot of ugali, while her mother had prepared omena, and everything had already been placed aside ready to be served.
However, moments later, panic erupted after a massive snake unexpectedly dropped from the ceiling.
Mama Jimmy said the family was caught completely off guard, forcing everyone in the kitchen to flee in different directions.
“I remember we were in the kitchen cooking ugali and when the snake fell we all scampered outside,” she recalled.
She explained that the reptile had likely found its way into the house because the family home had not yet been fully completed at the time.
“The snake came in because the house had kind of been built but it was not complete,” she said.

Mama Jimmy described the reptile as enormous, saying its size terrified everyone inside the house.
“It was a very huge snake. It was so huge I can’t even estimate its size, but it scared us and we all ran outside in different directions,” she narrated.
With no one willing to go back into the house, help eventually came from a neighbouring homestead.
She revealed that it was a worker employed by their neighbour to look after cattle who came to their rescue and dealt with the snake.
“So it’s the neighbour who had a worker taking care of the cows who came and rescued us,” she said.
Mama Jimmy has previously spoken openly about her humble upbringing in Kitale, often sharing memories of the struggles her family endured before finding better opportunities.
