Liz Jackson shares concerns after watching family hold late-night prayers with young kids on TikTok

Digital content creator and influencer Liz Jackson has shared her concerns after watching a family hold late-night prayers with their young children during a TikTok live.

On Friday, July 3, 2026, she questioned whether children below the age of 10 should be awake that late instead of sleeping before going to school the next morning. Her comments came after the live appeared on her TikTok For You Page.

“I’m Eeeh, guys, tell me if I’m wrong, one person who doesn’t like extreme religious practices,” Liz Jackson said.

She explained that the live showed a family with three children worshipping and praying together with their parents. According to her, the live started appearing on her feed at around 11 pm. She immediately became concerned because the children looked younger than 10 years old.

“Yesterday a live popped on my fyp on TikTok; it was a family of 3 kids together with their parents worshipping and praying,” Liz Jackson said.

She said her first thought was that the children should have been asleep because they would likely have school the following morning. She questioned whether staying awake that late was appropriate for children of that age.

Late-night prayers raise concern

“It was around 11 pm, those kids looked below 10 years old, and my immediate thought was, aren’t these kids supposed to be sleeping so that they can go to school in the morning?” Liz Jackson explained.

Liz Jackson said she decided to join the live to see whether other people shared her concerns. Instead, she found that many of the comments were praising the family and sharing Bible verses.

“Nikasema let me join the live and see if anyone else thinks like me. Wueeeh, everyone was commenting with Bible verses, saying God bless me with a family like this. Nikashaangaa ghai hakuna mtu anaona these babies are supposed to be in bed,” Liz Jackson said.

She explained that she remained on the live and noticed the prayers continued for several more hours. According to her, the session only came to an end after midnight.

“They finished worshipping at around half past midnight na hio kitu imenisumbua, those babies are supposed to be sleeping and resting, not praying until 1 am anyway ama niwaitie Mosiria,” Liz Jackson said.

She maintained that, in her view, young children should be resting at night instead of taking part in activities that continue until after midnight.
