Kamba musician Kasau gives YouTubers 24 hours to remove his interviews and live performances

Popular Kamba Benga musician Alex Kasau Katombi has issued a stern 24-hour ultimatum to YouTubers and bloggers, demanding the removal of his interviews, live performances, photos and audio from their channels.

In a warning posted on his Facebook page on Thursday, August 13, 2026, Katombi told bloggers who had uploaded his content to YouTube to take it down within 24 hours, regardless of whether it was from an interview or a live performance.

“Kama unajua wewe ni blogger wa na umeeka video zangu, picha ama audio kwa channel yako ya YouTube, regardless niya interview ama live performance, you have 24 hours to pull them down; failure to do so, you will get a strike and copyright infringement,” he said

Katombi warned that those who fail to comply would face copyright strikes and infringement claims.

He signed off his warning by saying that he had been branded as a bad person and suggested that he was now ready to show how far he could go in defending his content and intellectual property.

“They branded me a bad person; let me show you how bad I can become,” he stated.

The Kamba music star, who leads the Nguuni Lovers Band under Kisinga Sounds, has previously been vocal about protecting his creative work.

Katombi has taken issue with covers, parodies and the unauthorised use of his beats and songs, maintaining that content creators should develop original work rather than rely on established artists for visibility.

Warning comes days after wedding

The latest warning comes just days after Katombi celebrated his traditional wedding and dowry ceremony.

On Saturday, August 8, the musician, popularly known as Simba or Bazu, tied the knot with his partner, Maggie, also known as Mama Prince, during a colourful Kamba cultural ceremony in Ndunga, Mbitini, Kitui County.

The ceremony featured music, dance and performances by several artists, including Stephen Kasolo. Katombi also released a new song titled “Ndunga”, dedicated to the occasion.
