IShowSpeed leaves stadium furious after England throw away World Cup final dream

American streamer IShowSpeed was left visibly frustrated after England’s dramatic 2-1 defeat to Argentina in the FIFA World Cup semi-final, accusing the Three Lions of sitting back for the final 30 minutes and allowing their opponents to snatch victory.
The YouTube star, who watched the match live from Atlanta Stadium on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, did not hide his disappointment after witnessing England surrender a one-goal lead before Argentina completed a stunning stoppage-time comeback to book a place in the World Cup final.
Moments after the final whistle, Speed expressed disbelief over England’s approach during the closing stages of the match, insisting the team became too defensive after taking the lead.
“I can’t believe they played like that for the past 30 minutes. They just sat back. They literally sat there,” he said.
The internet personality compared England’s tactics to those used by Egypt earlier in the tournament, arguing that trying to defend a narrow lead against a side like Argentina was always going to backfire.
“Egypt did the same thing and they were now trying to do the same tactic, and it clearly did not work. They got one goal and got all comfortable, and they got into what looked like a box. Not smart,” he lamented.
Speed admitted he was struggling to understand England’s game management, saying he had seen the same mistakes repeatedly.
“I can’t be marvelled at. It’s the same thing over and over,” he added.

The streamer was particularly critical of England’s decision not to introduce fresh players as Argentina continued piling pressure on their defence.
Questioning the substitutions, Speed wondered why the coaching staff failed to inject new energy into the team during the decisive stages of the contest.
“The last 30 minutes for England were awful. They just sat there. Why did they not bring in new legs? I wonder about people like Saka,” he said.
As disappointed England supporters tried to process the painful defeat, some fans attempted to cheer Speed up by reminding him that England could still finish third in the tournament.
However, the content creator made it clear that the consolation offered little comfort after watching England miss out on a place in the final.
“I only got one hope now. I can’t with these football matches. I see someone in the comments telling me, ‘Don’t worry, we are coming in as third,'” he said.
Dramatic comebacks
Speed’s reaction came after Argentina produced one of the tournament’s most dramatic comebacks.
England had looked destined for the World Cup final after Anthony Gordon opened the scoring in the 54th minute following an assist from Morgan Rogers.
However, Argentina refused to give up.
Captain Lionel Messi inspired the comeback by providing an assist for Enzo Fernández’s equaliser in the 84th minute before setting up substitute Lautaro Martínez, who scored the dramatic winning goal in stoppage time to seal a 2-1 victory.
The result ended England’s hopes of reaching their first FIFA World Cup final since 1966, while Argentina advanced to face Spain in the final scheduled for Sunday, July 19, at MetLife Stadium.
