Geoffrey Mosiria rubbishes claims he took Peter Kioi to rehab for PR stunts
Nairobi County’s Chief Officer for Customer Engagement Geoffrey Mosiria has dismissed claims that he took TikToker Peter Kioi to rehabilitation for publicity stunts, insisting that his decision was purely driven by concern from Kenyans who feared the content creator’s life was in danger due to drug abuse.
Speaking in a TikTok video on Friday, May 29, 2026, Mosiria said he came to know Kioi after many Kenyans reached out to him online asking for intervention. According to him, videos of the TikToker struggling with drug use had attracted massive attention online, with thousands of people pleading for help.
“And there is a friend of mine called Peter Kioi And there is a friend of mine called Peter Kioi and he is a brother who I got to know after people reached out to me on the internet. In those videos over 50,000 people were seeing them and they were giving examples of people I had helped before and saying I should also help Kioi get into rehab so he can quit drugs. and he is a brother who I got to know after people reached out to me on the internet. In those videos over 50,000 people were seeing them and they were giving examples of people I had helped before and saying I should also help Kioi get into rehab so he can quit drugs’” Mosiria said.

Mosiria revealed that he personally facilitated Kioi’s admission to a rehabilitation centre in Kahawa Sukari in an effort to help him quit drugs and rebuild his life.
“However, he claimed that the TikToker later disappointed those trying to support him after allegedly displaying indiscipline and other behavioural issues while at the facility. I took him to a rehab centre based in Kahawa Sukari and he was admitted, but later he disappointed us because he also had other behaviours at the rehab centre, which is why they referred him to Mathari Hospital for further treatment’” he added.
According to Mosiria, the rehab centre later recommended that Kioi be transferred to Mathari Hospital for further treatment and specialised care.
He stated that arrangements were made for a woman identified as Stacy to escort Kioi to the hospital, but the TikToker allegedly refused and instead insisted on going back home.
“After that we called a lady called Stacy to take him to Mathari, but Kioi said he wanted to go home and not to the hospital. I felt disappointed because rehab rules have to be followed to the letter,” Mosiria added.
Mosiria expressed disappointment over the incident, saying rehabilitation programmes require patients to strictly follow rules and guidelines for recovery to succeed.
He further claimed that some visitors contributed to the confusion at the rehabilitation centre, recalling an incident where a woman allegedly caused disturbance after visiting Kioi without prior notice.
Mosiria said rehabilitation facilities have strict procedures on visitation and accused the visitors of causing unnecessary commotion and incitement at the centre.
“Also, if you have friends or close people, they cannot just come to visit you in rehab without notice. I remember there was a lady who came to visit him and she was very noisy there until there was commotion and incitement,” Geoffrey said.
