Former Miss World Kenya Grace Ramtu has looked back on the moment that changed her life, saying winning the national beauty crown taught her that dreams are worth holding on to despite setbacks and moments of doubt.

In a heartfelt post shared on her Instagram page on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, Ramtu marked the anniversary of her crowning by reflecting on the journey that led her to becoming Miss World Kenya.

The beauty queen said the title represented a dream she had carried for years and one that came true after overcoming challenges that tested her determination.

Looking back at a life-changing moment

Grace said being crowned Miss World Kenya remains one of the most memorable moments of her life, describing it as the day everything changed.

She admitted that the journey to the crown was not always smooth, saying there were times she questioned whether she would ever achieve her goal.

“Exactly on this day, my life changed forever. I was crowned Miss World Kenya, a dream so many young girls carry in their hearts, and one I held onto through every high and every low,” she wrote.

According to Ramtu, what kept her moving forward was her decision never to stop believing in herself, even when the outcome seemed uncertain.

‘Dreams are always valid’

As she reflected on her experience, the former beauty queen encouraged people pursuing their ambitions not to give up, regardless of the obstacles they encounter.

She said every dream has its own time and that patience often plays an important role in success.

“The journey wasn’t easy. There were moments of doubt, tears, setbacks and times I questioned whether my dream would ever come true. But one thing I never did was stop believing,” she said.

Grace added that looking back has strengthened her belief that everything happens at the right time.

“Today, I am reminded that dreams are always valid. They don’t expire. They simply arrive at the time God has already prepared for you,” she added.

Crowned Miss World Kenya

Grace Ramtu was crowned Miss World Kenya 2024/2025 after emerging as the winner of the national beauty pageant, earning the opportunity to represent the country at the Miss World competition.

Her victory marked the beginning of a new chapter in her life, placing her among Kenya’s recognised beauty queens and giving her a platform to champion causes close to her heart.

Looking back on that milestone, Grace said the moment remains one of the biggest achievements of her life, adding that it reminded her that patience, faith and perseverance can eventually turn long-held dreams into reality.

“Looking back, I can only say God’s timing is perfect. Thank You, Lord, for making what once felt impossible become my reality. To everyone chasing a dream that feels far away, keep going. Your moment is coming too,” she wrote.
