Kenyan actress and content creator Foi Wambui has addressed pregnancy speculation from her followers, saying recent weight gain should not be taken as a sign that she is expecting a child.

Foi spoke about the speculation on Instagram on Friday, September 4, 2026, after some of her followers appeared to link her changing appearance to pregnancy.

The actress questioned why people were so quick to conclude about her body, explaining that the changes were simply part of enjoying a new chapter in her life.

“Anyway, in the Lord’s will and timing, I hope that I’ll receive the blessing. Lakini… Yani, small small happy weight and honeymoon food baby inawafanya mnakuwa certified womb watchers? Ei. Pls behave. It’s 2026. I thought we don’t do this anymore?” she said.

From Ruracio to wedding

The speculation comes shortly after Foi and her husband, Davis Githinji, completed their wedding celebrations following months of preparations.

The couple first marked their union through a traditional Kikuyu ruracio ceremony in July 2026. The intimate celebration brought together their families and close friends as they formally took the next step in their relationship.

Foi stood out in a modern interpretation of traditional Kikuyu fashion, while Davis complemented her look in a matching outfit.

The ruracio was followed by their white wedding on August 1, 2026, just weeks after the traditional ceremony. The couple celebrated the occasion with family, friends and fellow creatives.

Their wedding came months after Davis proposed to Foi following a trip to the Kenyan Coast, with the actress sharing the engagement news with her followers in February 2026.

Foi begins married life

After the wedding celebrations, Foi and Davis have since moved into the honeymoon stage of their marriage. The actress has shared glimpses of this period with her followers, giving them a look at life after the wedding while keeping some details private.

Her latest comments suggest that the couple have been enjoying their time together, including food and the relaxed routine that comes with being away from the usual demands of daily life.

Foi’s reference to “honeymoon food” was also her way of explaining the weight gain that had fuelled the pregnancy speculation.

Asking followers to respect boundaries

While Foi acknowledged that she hopes to have a child in the future, she made it clear that she does not want assumptions about pregnancy to be based on her appearance.

Her response also reflects a wider conversation among public figures about comments on women’s bodies and reproductive choices.

For Foi, the timing of the questions was particularly notable as she settles into married life and enjoys the early days of her marriage. Rather than confirming the speculation, she reminded her followers that weight changes do not automatically mean someone is pregnant.
