Eve Mungai opens up about quitting alcohol to committing to an 11-month fitness journey

Digital content creator Eve Mungai has opened up about the decision that changed her lifestyle, revealing that an old photoshoot pushed her to quit alcohol, join the gym and begin an 11-month fitness journey that helped her achieve the results she wanted.
In a series of Instagram Stories shared on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, the content creator reflected on the moment she realised she was no longer comfortable with the direction her health and fitness were taking.
According to Eve, a photoshoot she participated in became the turning point that inspired her to make major changes in her daily life.
The photoshoot that changed everything
Although she admitted that she still looked good in the pictures, Eve explained that she was not satisfied with the excess fat around her midsection. The photos ended up remaining in her private collection because she chose not to share them with her followers.

“There is a shoot I did that made me realise I didn’t like the direction we were taking, and I decided to join the gym immediately,” Eve shared.
She added that although she still considered herself beautiful, she felt the need to make changes that would help her feel more comfortable and confident. “I didn’t even post the photos. I still looked beautiful. I was just not okay with the midsection fat. At the time, I was 62kg,” she explained.
Giving up alcohol and adopting a healthier lifestyle
After making the decision to focus on her fitness, Eve completely changed her routine. She revealed that she gave up alcohol for more than eight months, committed herself to regular exercise and adopted healthier eating habits.
According to her, consistency became the most important part of the journey. “I joined the gym, gave up alcohol completely for eight months plus, ate clean and healthy, and 11 months later, I got the results I wanted,” she said.
Her commitment eventually helped her reduce her weight from 62kg to 57kg.

Her fitness journey started months earlier
This is not the first time Eve has spoken publicly about her health and fitness goals. In December 2025, she revealed that she had been attending the gym consistently for three months after beginning her fitness programme on October 6.
At the time, she described 62kg as the heaviest weight she had ever reached. “This is the third month now. I started on October 6, and I love it here. Current weight is 62kg — the heaviest I have ever been,” she wrote in an Instagram post.
Interestingly, she also admitted then that she was not necessarily trying to lose or gain weight.
Celebrating sobriety milestones
Apart from exercising regularly, Eve has also been open about her decision to stop drinking alcohol. In March 2026, she celebrated 110 days of sobriety by sharing a screenshot from an application that tracks progress after giving up alcohol.
The update showed that she had remained alcohol-free for three months and 20 days.
Her latest revelation suggests that the decision to quit alcohol became an important part of a broader lifestyle change that included fitness, healthier eating and personal discipline. Today, the content creator says she is enjoying the results of a journey that began with one honest moment in front of a camera.
