DJ Xclusive calls out women paying for dowry, rings and weddings in relationships

DJ Xclusive has called out women who pay for their own dowries, engagement rings, dinners and weddings in relationships.
Speaking about a post he saw over the weekend, he said some women had shared that they had personally paid for different expenses linked to their relationships. He questioned why such women later complain about men who did not have money.
“I saw a post over the weekend, and ladies were talking about how they have paid for their dowries, they have paid for engagement rings, for dinners, for weddings. Wamejilipia under the table,” DJ Xclusive said on Monday, August 24, 2026.

DJ Xclusive said women who choose to pay for such expenses should accept responsibility for their decisions. He explained that the women were the ones who wanted to handle the costs and should therefore not later blame the men involved. He also used the word “delulu” while speaking about the situation.
“And this is the thing, I want to tell such ladies, beba tu msalaba yako wewe mwenyewe kama mrembo, ujiite delulu, don’t even speak of the man eti oh he didn’t have anything, he was a broke man,” DJ Xclusive said.
DJ Xclusive questions the decisions
The media personality said women should not describe men as broke after choosing to pay for their own expenses. He argued that the women knew what they were doing when they decided to take care of the costs. He said no one had forced them to make those choices.
“Wewe ndio ulikua na shida because you wanted to do all those things. No one forced you,” DJ Xclusive said.

DJ Xclusive also gave an example of women approaching their parents about traditional marriage arrangements. He explained that a woman could tell her parent that she was planning to have ruracio while already knowing that she would be the person paying for the expenses. He said such a woman should take responsibility for the decision.
“Wewe ndio ulienda kwa mzazi ukamwambia tunafanya ruracio na unajua at the back of your mind that wewe ndio umelipia hizoz vitu zote,” DJ Xclusive said.
He maintained that the issue was not about being forced to pay but about deciding to cover the expenses. DJ Xclusive said women who knowingly choose to pay for these things should not later place the responsibility on the men involved. He based his comments on the post he said he saw over the weekend.
