DJ Shiti reflects on Stoopid Boy’s death, urges artists to use their opportunities wisely

DJ Shiti has urged artists to use their opportunities wisely following the death of Stoopid Boy.
The call came after a video doing rounds on social media appeared to capture Stoopid Boy asking for “punch”, a Sheng word meaning Ksh500, to buy food and pay his producer. DJ Shiti used the situation to remind fellow artists to make good use of the attention they receive.
“Wasanii wenzangu ukipata Attention make Sure unaitumia vizuri Usichezee Time Unatrend hata kidogo Jenga Maisha yako Ji align Nawatu watakujenga kimaisha,” DJ Shiti said on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
DJ Shiti said artists should not waste the moments when they are receiving attention. He urged them to focus on building their lives and surrounding themselves with people who can help them grow. His message came while reflecting on the situation involving Stoopid Boy and the request for money heard in the video.
“Yani ukiomba doh watu wanajirecord hadi??? Nani punch tu… Rest in power Mana Stoopid,” DJ Shiti said.
DJ Shiti calls for better use of opportunities
In his message, DJ Shiti focused on artists making use of the opportunities that come with being noticed. He said they should not simply enjoy being talked about but should use such moments to work towards improving their lives. He also encouraged them to connect with people who can help them build themselves.
“Wasanii wenzangu, ukipata attention, make sure unaitumia vizuri,” DJ Shiti said.
DJ Shiti also warned artists against wasting time when they are trending. He said attention can be used as an opportunity to make progress and urged his fellow artists to align themselves with people who can contribute positively to their lives. He linked the message to the loss of Stoopid Boy, whom he mourned in the same statement.
“Usichezee time unatrend hata kidogo jenga maisha yako ji align na watu watakujenga kimaisha,” DJ Shiti said.
The remarks come as a family dispute has emerged over the burial location of Edgar, popularly known as Stoopid Boy. Moses, a friend of the family, said Edgar had expressed his wish to be buried at his father’s home in Siaya, while some family members want the burial to take place in Nyandarua.
