Content creator Raymond Kahuma surprises struggling Mirema businessman

Content creator Raymond Kahuma has surprised Nairobi hotel owner Kang’ethe after bringing 83 customers to his restaurant on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
Kahuma had initially planned to bring 50 customers, but the number eventually grew to 83, turning the planned food outing into a bigger surprise for the businessman.
“So the number of people we fed was 83,” Kahuma said, noting that they had originally planned for 50 customers.
How Kahuma discovered Kang’ethe
Kahuma explained that his team discovered the small restaurant in Mirema about a week before the surprise. They secretly visited the establishment to eat and came across Kang’ethe, who runs the business as both its owner and only worker.

What stood out to the team was his kindness. Kahuma said Kang’ethe told them that if they did not have money, they could still eat and pay later.
That gesture convinced Kahuma that Kang’ethe was someone worth supporting.
The team later learned that Kang’ethe had closed the restaurant because he was struggling financially. They therefore convinced him to open for another day, telling him they wanted to bring one or two friends for a food review.
From two friends to 83 customers
When Kahuma arrived, Kang’ethe appeared unaware of the real plan. After ordering eggs and tea, Kahuma asked if he could invite a few friends.
The seemingly small food review quickly became a surprise gathering as more people started arriving.
Kahuma told Kang’ethe that he would pay for the food and also brought in people to help prepare the meals. The team cooked food including ugali before serving the guests.

During the experience, Kahuma asked Kang’ethe about the challenges of running the restaurant. When asked what keeps him going on days when there are no customers, Kang’ethe simply said he tries his best.
The content creator later revealed the true scale of the surprise.
The moment ended with Kahuma presenting Kang’ethe with another surprise, while thanking him for welcoming the group.
The gesture offered a boost to a small hospitality business that had been struggling to stay open, while highlighting how a single act of kindness can lead to unexpected support.
