Ciru Muriuki praises tailor behind DCP-allied senators’ matching green blazers

Media personality Ciru Muriuki has seemingly praised the tailor behind the matching green blazers worn by Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP)-allied senators during a recent Senate sitting.
Reacting to photos of the lawmakers on social media, Ciru shifted attention from the politics surrounding the outfits to the tailor, joking that anyone who could make six matching blazers in just one week deserved recognition.
She also playfully asked for the tailor’s phone number.
“The real question is WHOOOO is this fundi that made 6 blazers in one week? I need a number, please!” she posted.
Matching green blazers
Ciru’s remarks came after six DCP-allied senators turned heads on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, when they arrived at the Senate dressed in matching green blazers, white shirts and coordinated ties in the colours associated with the party.
The lawmakers included Nyandarua Senator John Methu, Kiambu Senator Karungo wa Thang’wa, Laikipia Senator John Kinyua, Kirinyaga Senator Kamau Murango, Murang’a Senator Joe Nyutu and Kajiado Senator Kanar Seki.
The coordinated fashion statement came just days after DCP celebrated a major political victory in the Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election. The party’s candidate, Sammy Douglas Kamau Waweru, defeated UDA’s Samuel Muchina Nyagah, a result that was widely seen as a significant boost for the party and its leadership.
Despite the differing political opinions, much of the online conversation eventually shifted to the stylish green blazers themselves.
