Alikiba: I don’t go to clubs much, but I enjoy them more when I’m outside Tanzania

Tanzanian singer Alikiba has opened up about his relationship with nightlife, revealing that he does not often go to clubs in Tanzania but enjoys the experience more when he is outside the country.
Speaking during an interview shared online on Saturday, September 26, 2026, Alikiba explained that being outside Tanzania gives him a different experience of clubbing, making him more interested in going out.
The singer said he does not usually spend much time in clubs, but the experience changes when he is in another country because he gets to observe how people enjoy themselves.
“Mimi sio mtu wa kwenda sana kwa club. Lakini kwa sababu nikiwa nje ya Tanzania, ndio napenda kutoka kidogo, because mimi huwa si-experience club inakaa vipi ama watu wanaenjoy vipi. So, to be honest, I think I’ll enjoy it more than the others,” Alikiba said.
Alikiba to perform in Kiambu
Alikiba made the remarks ahead of his scheduled performance on Saturday, September 26, at Bongo/R&B in Kiambu. The concert is expected to bring together fans for an evening centred on music, entertainment and partying, with Alikiba set to headline the event.
Speaking about the concert, the singer said his focus would be on giving the audience an enjoyable experience rather than simply performing his songs and leaving the stage.
He said the event would allow fans to relax, listen to his music, and enjoy the atmosphere around the performance. “Nitaperform na nitawafurahisha, and most importantly, it’s all about vibing with the concert,” he said.
Alikiba talks about enjoying the experience
For Alikiba, performing outside Tanzania has also allowed him to interact with audiences in different settings.
His comments about clubs appear to be linked to the different experiences he gets when travelling, particularly when he is able to see how people in other countries spend their free time.
Rather than describing himself as someone who regularly goes out to clubs, the singer said he becomes more interested in the experience when he is away from home.
