Former Tahidi High actor Dennis Mugo, popularly known as OJ, has shared what he described as the ‘terms and conditions’ for anyone interested in dating him.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, August 6, 2026, Mugo presented the message as an official memorandum addressed to “all potential partners, Instagram models, and aspiring influencers.”

The post outlined several rules he said prospective partners would need to follow, touching on everything from social media etiquette to dating expenses and public appearances.

No social media, modest lifestyle

One of the conditions stated that anyone dining with him at a local restaurant should keep their phone face down and avoid recording or posting videos of their outing on social media.

“If you see me eating a plate of skuma wiki and ugali at a local spot, your phone must remain face down. Any TikTok video captioned ‘Look at my humble king’ will result in immediate disqualification and a block on all networks,” he wrote.

Mugo also said his future partner should be comfortable travelling in a modest vehicle and not question the absence of a luxury car.

“When we go out, you must be comfortable sitting in a vehicle that requires a manual key and smells faintly of a mechanic’s workshop. Do not ask why the V8 is ‘in the garage for routine maintenance.’ The Probox is my new spiritual sanctuary,” he wrote.

On dating expenses, the former actor said he now believes in what he called “strategic co-funding,” suggesting that each person should cover the cost of their own premium orders.

“The era of me buying out the entire VIP section to impress your friends from USIU is officially dead. In this Reformation Era, we practice ‘Strategic Co-Funding.’ If you order an imported cocktail, ensure your M-Pesa balance can back up that ambition,” he said.

Privacy comes first

Mugo also joked that elaborate public displays of romance would no longer be part of his relationships.

“I am banned by my publicist (who has already quit but the rule remains) from holding smoke bombs, cutting cakes that reveal blue or pink filling, or standing next to a rented helicopter for the next 24 calendar months. We will date like traditional citizens: in absolute secrecy, filled with mutual suspicion,” he said

In another light-hearted moment, he said that if they were denied entry to a high-end lounge because of his attire, they should simply move on rather than argue.

“If we are denied entry to a high-end lounge because I am wearing plastic sandals, you will not argue with the bouncers. You will calmly turn around and walk with me to Birngens Wines and Spirits, pale Chuka, where they appreciate raw talent,” he wrote.

The remarks come as OJ has been the subject of online discussion following the circulation of a video showing him spending time with friends at a local pub.

Addressing the footage, the former Tahidi High actor dismissed criticism, saying he has always enjoyed socialising with his friends and saw nothing wrong with the video circulating on social media.
