‘Busboys’ – A comedy film inside a busy restaurant kitchen
Two comedians have teamed up to bring chaotic energy to the big screen in Busboys, a 2026 R-rated workplace comedy set almost entirely inside a fast-moving restaurant kitchen where everything that can go wrong does.
Released on Saturday, April 17, 2026, the film is directed by Jonah Feingold and stars David Spade and Theo Von as two long-time friends stuck in dead-end lives who convince themselves that working as busboys will fix everything.
What starts as a simple job quickly spirals into kitchen madness, as they struggle to survive demanding chefs, impatient customers, and their own bad decisions.
Kitchen chaos unfolds
The restaurant setting becomes the heartbeat of the film. Orders stack up, tempers flare, and the kitchen runs on pure pressure. Spade and Von’s characters are constantly out of depth, turning routine service shifts into full-blown disasters.
From broken plates to shouting matches during peak hours, the film leans heavily into controlled chaos, using the kitchen as a stage for nonstop comedic breakdowns.

At the centre of Busboys is the chemistry between the two leads. Their friendship feels lived-in, built on sarcasm, frustration, and a shared inability to take life seriously. Much of the humour comes from their reactions to situations spiralling far beyond their control.
Supporting performances from Bobby Lee, Tim Dillon, and Jimmy Gonzales add extra layers of chaos, especially during hectic restaurant rushes.
Unfiltered humour
The film doesn’t hold back. It embraces dirty jokes, chaotic moments, and over-the-top situations that push the kitchen environment into absurd territory.
While some emotional beats attempt to ground the story in themes of purpose and direction, the film largely thrives on disorder.

Visually, Busboys keeps things simple but effective. The restaurant is lit with bright, almost harsh kitchen lighting that captures the intensity of service rushes.
The film is not the most visually striking, but as a straightforward comedy, it does its job well. If you are looking for a solid laugh and enjoy chaotic workplace humour, this is definitely worth a watch.
