Jesus Compassion Ministries [JCM] founder Bishop Ben Kiengei has encouraged his followers to embrace silence while pursuing growth and success, saying silence often frustrates people who thrive on provoking others and accessing details about their personal lives.

In a lengthy message shared on Facebook on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, the preacher reflected on how some people become uncomfortable whenever others choose to remain silent instead of responding to criticism, allegations or provocations.

According to him, silence creates fear among certain individuals because it prevents them from understanding a person’s plans, direction and next move in life.

“There are people who will never be at peace, and especially when you learn to be silent, your silence is their fear,” he wrote.

Kiengei explained that when people become too available or speak too much about their lives, others can easily study them, understand their weaknesses and even predict what they are capable of achieving. He, however, noted that silence denies such people the opportunity to interfere with someone’s progress.

“In most cases when we speak a lot or we become so available, people can tell who you are and the direction of your life; they can easily know exactly what you can achieve,” he wrote.

The bishop went on to reference the biblical story of Nehemiah, saying Tobias and Sanbalat attempted to provoke Nehemiah while he was rebuilding the wall by mocking his work and claiming even foxes could bring the wall down.

According to Kiengei, the critics wanted Nehemiah to respond emotionally and reveal his plans concerning the reconstruction project, but instead, he chose silence and focus until the wall was completed.

“Tobias and Sanbalat provoked Nehemiah by telling him that the wall he was reconstructing could be brought down by foxes, because Nehemiah was building in silence; they wanted him to speak so that they could measure his direction concerning the wall, but Nehemiah answered, Once the wall is complete, you have no portions, nor your names on it,” he added.

The preacher further stated that silence often helps build growth more easily because it limits access to personal information by people with negative intentions. He argued that some individuals deliberately create accusations, provocations and unnecessary conflicts, hoping to force reactions from others.

“In most cases, silence builds growth easily, and it frustrates Provoking agents; they will use every available mechanism to frustrate you and raise allegations that can push you to speak out because they handle the results after your silence,” he wrote.

Kiengei added that once people can no longer use someone’s past against them, they begin seeking access to their current life in order to create fresh destruction and confusion.

He therefore advised his followers to continue building, executing plans and progressing quietly without feeling pressured to explain themselves or respond to every criticism directed at them.

“Continue hiding; build and execute in silence, don’t be intimidated; don’t answer and don’t regroup… Silence is power… they finished using your past; the remaining effort is to access your current and present life for more destruction. Close the door with Silence,” he added.
