Bernice Saroni unveils Ksh10K giveaway challenge dedicated to mothers and grandmothers
USA-based Kenyan content creator Bernice Saroni has launched a heartfelt social media challenge where fans stand a chance to win a Ksh10,000 lunch voucher by celebrating their mothers and grandmothers through photos and emotional stories.
In the online initiative shared on Facebook on Saturday, May 23, 2026, Bernice is calling on her followers to share their best pictures with their mothers or grandmothers, or alternatively post touching stories highlighting the role the women have played in their lives.
The challenge is aimed at appreciating mothers and grandmothers who, according to her, have raised, prayed for, sacrificed for, and loved their families unconditionally.
“10K lunch voucher. Drop your best picture with your grandma or mom, or share a touching story about them,” she wrote.
Participants are required to post their entries on social media and tag them accordingly, with the post that attracts the highest number of likes emerging as the winner. The winner will not only receive the Ksh10,000 lunch voucher but will also be expected to take their mother or grandmother out for a special meal as a way of honouring her.
“The most liked post wins a 10K lunch voucher, and you’ll take her out tomorrow to honour her love,” she added.

Bernice said the initiative is meant to create a moment of love, reflection and gratitude, encouraging people to publicly celebrate the women who played a key role in shaping their lives.
She further urged her audience to actively participate by sharing their posts widely, saying the campaign is not just about winning but about spreading appreciation and emotional connection within families and communities.
“Let’s celebrate the women who raised us, prayed for us, sacrificed for us, and loved us unconditionally. Post it. Tag it. Let’s feel the love,” she wrote.
State of depression
Previously, the digital creator opened up about her painful struggle with depression, revealing that despite living a financially comfortable life, she was emotionally and mentally broken.
In a Facebook message shared on Thursday, May 7, 2026, Saroni reflected on a period in her life when she appeared to have it all together on the outside but was silently battling deep inner turmoil.
She revealed that at the time she was married and living in what she described as a seemingly perfect setup, but emotionally her home felt empty and cold despite being well furnished and luxurious.
“Here I was, someone’s wife, very depressed. At 2 months of breastfeeding Junior, I didn’t even have milk because of stress. I even stayed with this hair for 5 months until the braids started falling down because mentally and emotionally I was completely exhausted,” she wrote.
According to her, she had millions in savings, her children were enrolled in international schools, and she employed several domestic workers, including house managers and a driver. She also ran multiple businesses, including a boutique, a hotel, and a butchery, portraying a highly successful lifestyle from the outside.
“I had millions in my savings account. My boys were in an international school. I had 3 house managers and a driver. I was a boss lady, I had a boutique, a hotel, and a butchery, and I was doing very well,” she added.
However, Saroni disclosed that behind the success and appearances, she was struggling with severe depression that left her emotionally exhausted and mentally drained. She noted that the condition affected her even physically, pointing out that stress had impacted her well-being during a period she was breastfeeding her child.
She also shared that her emotional state became so overwhelming that she lacked the energy to take care of herself, describing how even her personal appearance deteriorated as she battled inner pain.
Saroni emphasised that money and material success did not shield her from emotional suffering, stating that wealth alone is not enough to guarantee happiness or mental peace.
“But I was very depressed. My home was very cold… I was in a mansion that looked perfect and well furnished, but inside it was empty emotionally. Money is not everything. I sank into depression and very few people understood my pain. Everything looked perfect from outside, but inside I was breaking,” she added.
