Benjamin Zulu’s verdict: Why Saturday laundry is stealing women’s lives
Renowned life coach Benjamin Zulu has given his take on how women should take care of themselves amidst competing priorities and daily pressures of life.
In a lengthy statement on his social media platforms on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, the life coach gave his insights on how to strike a balance and enjoy life while still attending to chores that require their attention.
Zulu opined that women were not born to spend their lives trapped between chores without a break, advising that doing so comes at a heavy price.

“Don’t clean your house every weekend. Don’t fill your Saturdays and Sundays with laundry. Do not spend your life trapped between chores that never end. A woman’s life is more than housekeeping. You were never born to spend all your days between brooms, floors, and dishes that get dirty again tomorrow,” Zulu stated.
Women missing out on key moments outside the walls of their homes
He noted that many women dedicate their lives to caring for others without taking a break and end up missing out on key moments outside the walls of their homes.
“Many women give years to caring for others, to carrying responsibilities and schedules and silent pressure. And yet many still feel guilty for resting, as if rejuvenation and recovery weren’t something they had already earned,” he added.

Zulu emphasised the importance of taking a break, noting that an exhausted woman does not enjoy life.
“The truth is that an exhausted woman doesn’t enjoy life but endures it. And when she’s enduring, there can’t be joy at home. When she’s on the brink of burnout and pouring from an empty cup, the home becomes dry of joy and laughter,” he said.
Self-care is a necessity
He encouraged women to be intentional in taking care of themselves, appreciating the benefits of taking part in activities outside their homes.

“The house can wait. Dust and dirt will return. Dishes never end. But moments don’t return. Her health doesn’t excuse neglect. Her well-being cannot be postponed. It’s said that if you don’t choose a day for rest, your body will choose one for you and it will not be the most convenient,” he said.
