American streamer iShowSpeed lands in Eswatini, marking 4th country on African tour
American streamer Darren Jason Watkins Jr, popularly known as iShowSpeed, has arrived in the Kingdom of Eswatini, marking his fourth country on his highly anticipated 28-day, multi-country African tour dubbed Speed Does Africa.
The streamer arrived in the landlocked southern African nation on Sunday, January 4, 2026, and was received with pomp, colour, and celebration, including a warm welcome by a prince of the kingdom.
The country’s occupants are largely indigenous communities, and they turned out in large numbers to receive the visiting internet star.
In a video shared on his YouTube channel on the same day, he is seen joining members of the Eswatini royal family, who quickly dressed him in traditional attire and proceeded to introduce him to some of their unique and deeply rooted cultural practices.
He is seen sitting on the ground without a shirt, clad only in a traditional skin skirt that he had been given, as elders walked him through several community rules and explained how people are expected to show respect and conduct themselves whenever the king of the kingdom is present.

The elders even gave him a special Eswatini name, a gesture that visibly delighted and excited the streamer.
In other parts of the country, the Twitch streamer was shown one of the community leaders who had more than five wives, and he reacted with visible shock and amazement at the revelation. He also tasted food prepared by the wives and expressed excitement at how well they cooked their chicken, noting how it was respectfully presented to their husband in accordance with tradition.
In other parts of the country, the streamer, after being given a local name, was made to run to the river to fetch water using a bucket, as members of the community watched. He is seen carrying the bucket back to the huts on his head, fully participating in the traditional daily practices of the local people.
Key tour
From Angola, he proceeded to South Africa, where he was similarly welcomed with an outpouring of love, excitement, and strong fan presence.
His third stop took him to Mozambique, where he arrived on Saturday, January 3, 2026.
In the country’s capital and along the coast, Speed was met by thousands of fans who accompanied him through the streets as he interacted with them live on stream, turning his visit into a moving street spectacle.
During his stay, he openly expressed admiration for Mozambique’s scenery, took part in cultural activities, met traditional dancers and acrobats, and joined them in performances that quickly went viral online.
