Uasin Gishu

The Nakuru incident closely follows a similar incident in Uasin Gishu, where police officers from Turbo Police Station, while on patrol, signaled a motorcycle rider carrying a pillion passenger and heading from Kipkaren River towards Beshabor to stop.

At the time, the rider defied the order, and a chase ensued. After a short distance, both the rider and the pillion passenger jumped off the motorcycle, abandoning it with a bag that was found to contain 20 brooms of Cannabis sativa and a mobile phone.

The police further reported that the key persons of interest are still at large. Meanwhile, the motorcycle and the cannabis were confiscated and are being held in secure custody as exhibits.

Likewise, efforts to trace and arrest the suspects are ongoing as the National Police Service remains steadfast in its commitment to combating drug trafficking.
