This is not the first time the authorities have appealed to the public for help in capturing Khalusha. In January 2025, the DCI issued a similar appeal on social media, asking anyone with information to come forward.

Kware murders

Jumaisi is accused of killing several women whose bodies and body parts were discovered at a dumpsite in Kware, Embakasi, Nairobi. He escaped from police custody on August 20, 2024, just hours before he was due to be charged with murder.

Khalusha, who hails from Shiru Sub-location in Shaviringa, Hamisi Sub-county, Vihiga County, escaped alongside 12 other suspects from the Gigiri Police Station in Nairobi.

The incident led to the suspension of eight police officers and the prosecution of five others who were accused of aiding the escape.

In July 2024, police revealed that Khalusha had confessed to killing 42 women, including his wife, between 2022 and 2024. His lawyer later disputed the confession, claiming it was obtained through torture.

The case shocked the country after police discovered the mutilated bodies of nine women in a disused quarry used as a rubbish dump in Kware. The victims, aged between 18 and 30, were reported to have been killed similarly.
