The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has once again called on the public to aid in the capture of Collins Jumaisi Khalusha, the prime suspect in the Kware murders, who escaped from police custody on August 20, 2024.
In a statement shared on X on January 2, 2025, DCI appealed to the public to share any information that could lead to Jumaisi’s arrest.
“WANTED SUSPECT: COLLINS JUMAISI KHALUSHA.

According to a post they shared, DCI said they are offering a significant cash reward for information leading to the capture of the serial murder suspect who escaped from custody.
However, police did not disclose exactly how much they are offering as a reward for the information.
“The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is seeking the public’s help in providing information that could assist in the re-arrest of Collins Jumaisi Khalusha.
“He was scheduled to be charged with murder but escaped from police custody on Monday, 20/8/2024. A significant cash reward will be provided to anyone with credible information leading to the suspect’s arrest.

Escape from police custody
Collins Jumaisi Khalusha escaped alongside 12 other suspects from the Gigiri Police Station in Nairobi on August 20, 2024.
Eight police officers were suspended and five were charged in court over the escape, which police said was aided by insiders.
In July 2024, police reported that Collins Jumaisi Khalusha had confessed to the murders of 42 women, including his wife, since 2022. However, his lawyer claimed that the confession was extracted under torture.
Jumaisi was arrested following the horrific discovery of the mutilated bodies of nine women in July at a disused quarry used as a rubbish dump in Kware, Embakasi, Nairobi.
The victims were aged between 18 and 30, and were all killed in a similar way, according to the police.
