Police nab 2 linked to drug peddling in Kwale
Police officers from Matuga Police Station in Kwale County have arrested two persons of interest linked to drug trafficking in the Vuga area.
In a statement on the National Police Service official X account on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, police confirmed that the two were apprehended by officers acting on credible intelligence.

The two, a man and a woman, were nabbed on Monday, November 10, 2025.
“Acting on credible intelligence, police officers in Matuga, Kwale County, arrested two individuals yesterday, 10th November 2025, who are suspected of drug peddling in the Vuga area,” NPS said.
Police further confirmed that during the operation, the officers recovered 20 rolls of a substance believed to be cannabis sativa.
Meanwhile, police have confirmed that the two who were photographed with the exhibits were later escorted to the police station, awaiting processing and arraignment in court.

Mandera incident
The Kwale incident came after Police officers from Mandera County recovered at least 700 rolls of cannabis sativa and three kilograms of unprocessed cannabis in the Mandera crackdown.
The police in a statement on X on Monday, November 10, 2025, confirmed that the officers who were based in Mandera North Sub-County recovered the items during a patrol at a crime scene in the Shantoley area.
At the time, another item recovered was an unregistered motorcycle, which had an owner who fled the scene.
“Today, 10th November 2025, officers from the National Police Service based in Mandera North Sub-County recovered 700 rolls of cannabis sativa, three kilograms of unprocessed cannabis, and an unregistered motorcycle, among other items, while investigating a crime scene in the Shantoley area,” NPS noted.
Police further confirmed that the exhibits have been secured as evidence, while the officers are on the search for the key person of interest who remains at large.
“The exhibits have been secured as evidence. Officers are searching for the suspect, who remains at large, with a view to apprehending him so he can face justice,” NPS said.
