Gachagua enjoys fun golf outing with wife and fellow Kenyans in USA

Former Deputy President and Democratic Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua has shared a glimpse of another relaxed moment with his wife, Pastor Dorcas Wanjiku Rigathi, this time enjoying a golf outing with fellow Kenyans in Oregon.

In a post on X on Friday, September 15, 2026, Gachagua described the day as “truly fulfilling,” saying he participated in a golf tournament alongside his spouse and members of the Kenyan community at Gresham Golf Course in Portland.

“It was truly fulfilling to participate in a golf tournament alongside my spouse and fellow Kenyans living in Oregon at Gresham Golf Course in Portland,” Gachagua said.

A video from the outing showed Gachagua and Pastor Dorcas putting their golfing skills on display as fellow Kenyans cheered them on while they took turns on the course.

The couple both wore green, with Gachagua sporting a bright patterned polo while Pastor Dorcas wore a lime-green top and maroon cap.

Photos from the event also showed the couple at the practice range, swinging clubs as other participants watched, while a group photo captured the gathering on the grass.

Another light moment during US tour

The golf outing is one of several lighter moments Gachagua and Pastor Dorcas have shared since arriving in the United States, where the couple have combined personal time with diaspora and political engagements.

Before the golf outing, the couple were seen enjoying a morning workout together in Spokane, Washington, where they jogged along marked sections of the road.

Gachagua described the exercise as a healthy morning walk with his wife, saying the time together allowed them to prepare mentally and spiritually for the day ahead.

“We align our minds and soul ahead of a busy day ahead,” he said.

Earlier in the trip, Pastor Dorcas also shared a lighthearted moment with her husband when she gave him a shave.

A video shared online on Friday, September 4, 2026, showed Dorcas attending to Gachagua as the two laughed and chatted at what appeared to be a waterfront location.

Gachagua jokingly gave his wife instructions on how he wanted his hair cut.

“Don’t make it too short,” he told her as they laughed.

Dorcas responded, “For what?” before joking that he could simply wear a hat.

Days earlier, Gachagua and Pastor Dorcas also enjoyed a leisurely speedboat ride in Seattle, Washington.
