Kidero tells court Industrial Area Prison is haunted by demons, Kamiti Prison is full of gays
By Zipporah Ngwatu, September 25, 2025A Nairobi court was on Thursday, September 25, 2025, treated to a shocking revelation by Nelson Ibrahim Kidero, alias Nelson Muriithi, who said that Industrial Area Prisons is haunted by demons.
Kidero revealed this after Milimani Principal Magistrate Ben Mark Ekhubi told him that he would be taken back to prison as he waits for another appointment for him to be available for a mental assessment at the Kenyatta National Hospital.
The Court had ordered the man to be taken for the assessment before pleading to unlawful entry into parliamentary precincts, contrary to section 31 (1) (a) as read with section 31 (2) of the Parliamentary Powers and Privileges Act 2017.
Magistrate Ekhubi asked him to tell the court about his experience at Industrial Area Prison and whether he was okay.
“No, I am not okay there,” Kidero told the court.

He further proceeded to tell the court that there were demons at the Industrial Area Prison, and he was the only person who could deal with them.
“There are two prisons: kuna Industrial Area na kuna Kamiti. In the Industrial Area kuna ma demons na hakuna mtu anaeza toa ma demons kuniliko, na Kamiti hakuna demons nilikua hapo,” Kidero stated.
The magistrate then told him he would then transfer him from the Industrial Area to Kamiti.
However, he immediately opposed the transfer and told the magistrate to just let him go back to Industrial Area Prison.
“No, nirudishe Industrial Area, Kamiti ni kwa mashoga,” Kidero stated, leaving the court attendants laughing.

He also told the court that although there are many in the Industrial Area, they are fed very well, and he does not like it; he prefers going back to his normal life in Kayole.
“Industrial Area ni venye mnafungiwa watu wengi na mnalishwa vizuri huko; mnakulishwa githeri, mnakulishwa ugali. Mimi sitaki hio heri niende kwetu nitesekee kwetu Kayole, of which najua sitateseka,” Kidero told the court.
After the magistrate asked him if he had family member contacts so that the court could reach out to them on his issue.
He gave a contact number for someone whom he said he lives together with in Kayole, but the magistrate told him the person will be called, and when he comes back to court, he will be updated, but he objected to that.
“Hapana, mimi sitarudi apigiwe saa hii tusikie venye atasema saa hii, tunaishi naye Kayole,” Kidero said.
However, the person did not pick up the court’s call, but he gave another number before leaving the dock.
