Detectives arrest ‘mchele babe’ accused of stealing Ksh500K from Chadian national

Detectives have arrested one lady accused of stupefying and stealing from a reveller in Kilimani, Nairobi.

Confirming the arrest, detectives noted that Consolate Nyangai, linked to the rampant cases of drugging of revellers across various drinking joints in Nairobi is currently being held at the Kilimani Police Station.

Her arrest follows after a Chadian national filed a report at the Kilimani Police Station.

In his complaint, the foreigner claimed that the accused stole USD 4,000 (Ksh519,577) and Ksh10,000 from his wallet after a night of merrymaking at two drink establishments in Nairobi. She is also accused of stealing, a Samsung S20 and a Corn C105 phone.

“Her arrest resulted from a report filed at Kilimani Police Station by a Chadian national, who informed detectives that a city damsel had washed his wallets after a night of merrymaking at Gemini and Quivers clubs.

“In his November 9 report, the victim alleged to have retreated to his residence located at Spring Gardens Apartments in the company of his catch, Consolata, having downed several shots of their choice frothy waters,” detectives said.

Prior to her arrest, detectives smoked out the acccused from her hideout at Hunters area in Kasarani, where they recovered the stolen phones.

Preliminary investigations uncovered two national identity cards belong to the accused, a Kenyan and a Ugandan one, both bearing different names but the same photograph of Consolata.

“Also notable around Consolata’s base was a newly purchased 75″ Samsung TV worth Ksh 107,000 as per the receipts, and a Ramtons cooker worth Ksh 55,000. The items, both which were purchased after the incident, are believed to be proceeds of crime,” detectives added.

Consolata will be arraigned in court on Monday, November 18, 2024.

Detectives have since called on members of the public to remain vigilant as the festive season approaches.
