Police in Molo have arrested two persons of interest in connection with a recent break-in at the Molo National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) offices, during which several electronic items were stolen.

Confirming the arrests on Friday, October 31, 2025, Molo Sub-County Police Commander Timon Odingo said the duo were apprehended following crucial leads gathered during investigations.

“We have been pursuing important leads, and I’m glad to report that we have made significant progress. The suspects are now in custody and will face the law after we finalise our investigations,” Odingo said.

He added that the persons of interest are expected to be arraigned before the Molo Law Courts once investigations are concluded.

Among the recovered items are computers, laptops, a gas cylinder, a printing machine, and other electronic equipment stolen from the offices.

Swift action

Molo NG-CDF Chairperson Jane Gachathi expressed gratitude to the police for their swift action and successful recovery of the stolen items.

She said additional security measures have since been put in place at the offices to prevent similar incidents.

“We appreciate the efforts of the police in ensuring that justice is served. We have enhanced security within the premises to safeguard public property,” Gachathi said.

She further urged Molo residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement officers by reporting any suspicious activities or individuals involved in criminal acts.

The arrest comes hours after Police officers from Isiolo County cornered livestock thieves and managed to thwart the theft.

In a statement issued by the National Police Service (NPS) on Friday, October 31, 2025, officers confirmed that 21 stolen sheep and goats had been recovered after a well-coordinated patrol in the Burat area.

The police said the recovery followed reports of livestock theft in parts of the county.

A joint team from Kulamawe Police Station and the National Police Reservists carried out a detailed operation covering LMD, KMC, Mlango and Leparua, about 25 kilometres west of the station.

The officers, working together with local elders, managed to trace and recover the stolen animals, which were later returned to their rightful owners.

According to the police statement, the community played a big role in helping security officers locate the stolen livestock.

Elders and residents provided useful information that guided the team to the exact locations where the animals had been hidden.

“During the operation, officers engaged local elders who assisted in the recovery of the 21 animals, which were then handed over to their owner,” the police statement read.
