‘Ungrateful’ – Baba Talisha drags Chira’s grandma for begging for help after Ksh8M donation

Content creator Faustine Lipuku, alias Baba Talisha has criticized the late Brian Chira’s grandmother for what he describes as ungrateful behavior towards the TikTok community.
The grandmother recently set the internet ablaze after expressing her desire to sell her house and relocate, despite having received significant support from well-wishers just a year ago.
Taking to his Instagram on Tuesday, February 12, 2025, Baba Talisha voiced his disappointment with the elderly woman’s latest demands. He questioned her lack of appreciation for the massive support she received from the online community, especially TikTok.
“I feel so ashamed seeing someone who has been helped by the online family, especially on TikTok, being so ungrateful. Ksh8.4 million was collected. Remained with Ksh7.4 million less than one year down, nothing. No one in the history of fundraising has been helped like her. It was just not enough for her,” Baba Talisha expressed.

‘Chira Clan’ house
The house in question affectionately referred to as “Chira Clan,” was built as a tribute to the late content creator Brian Chira. Before his tragic passing, Chira had dreamed of providing a comfortable home for his grandmother. In honour of his dream, the TikTok community rallied together, raising Ksh8.4 million to construct a fully furnished house for her. This heartfelt gesture was seen as a way to preserve Chira’s memory and legacy.

However, Chira’s grandmother recently caused a stir when she hinted at plans to sell the house and move elsewhere. This revelation did not sit well with many TikTok users who felt that selling the house would be disrespectful to Chira’s memory and the collective efforts of his supporters. The house, symbolic of the love and unity shown by Chira’s fans, holds sentimental value for many.
The situation escalated when the grandmother posted a video explaining her desire to move to a container house, citing security reasons. This declaration only fueled more backlash from netizens who accused her of being ungrateful.
In an attempt to clarify her intentions, Chira’s grandmother explained on TikTok live, assuring the public that she had no plans to sell the house without telling the community.
“Sitauza vitu vyenu bila ruhusa yenu.Nataka make chini muone shosho atakaa aje. Kama mtanitafutia electric fence ama kununua shamba na kunijengea mahali pengine. Kulikuwa na wezi hivi majuzi na nilimpigia Obidan simu lakini hakupokea. Wanaiba ng’ombe na vitu vingine. Hakuna usalama,” Chira’s grandma explained.
Loosely translated;
“I will not sell your things without your knowledge. I want you guys to sit down and see what to do for me. You can help me get an electric fence or buy land and build another place for me. There were crooks around the other day and I called Obidan, but he did not pick up. They are stealing cattle and other things. There is no security.”
She also emphasized that she was not seeking financial assistance but rather support to enhance her security.
Acknowledging the life-changing impact that TikTokers had on her life, she expressed gratitude while highlighting her safety concerns.
